We are often asked whether to or not to seal pavers or timbers. In short, prevention is better than the cure. Sealing is optional, but if would like your exterior pavers and timbers to stay clean and look "newer" for longer then sealing is a good idea.
There are several benefits to sealing your paver and timbers:
- Lower maintenance (recommended by water authorities and be kind to the environment)
- Easier to clean
- Reduced risk of stains from food and drink spillages, BBQ's, dirt and fallen leaves, pet messes, chewing gum.
- Slow the growth of moss or mildew in damp areas
- Reduce the rate of colour fade due to the harsh Australian sun
- Initially inhibit weed/insect infestation

What sealer should one use and how far will it go? There are a number of different brands of sealers available to you. We use many brands, including products by Cromellin, CementAid, DryTreat, Dribond, Intergrain and more. The type of sealant will vary from penetrating (natural finish) to surface based or matt & gloss and they all offer different features, benefits and life span. Some have non-slip additives to improve safety in wet areas. Jetclean can help you specify which sealer is best suited to your requirements, pavers and conditions.
The JetSeal paver protection system will offer you the following:

Re-sealing of your pattern pave, stamped concrete and stenciled concrete areas is essential maintenance and recommended by all installers. If you leave your concrete surfaces unsealed they will stain, the dyes will fade under the harsh Australian sun and, in areas of shade moss, mould and algae may take hold and cause permanent damage.

NewLook Concrete Colour Stains penetrate the surface of porous concrete without changing its texture, unlike paint or some sealers. Use the Solid Color Stain for an opaque, solid colour finish and to completely cover surface discolorations. NewLook Concrete Stains are ideal for driveways, garage floors, pool decks, offices, restaurants, hotels, theme parks, shopping malls, schools and other high traffic areas.
The NewLook recolouring range is non-acid, non-acrylic and contain no hazardous chemicals (VOCs), which means they are safer to use and there is no messy clean up, neutralizers or acid-free sprayers required. It is also used to tint or enhance the texture of pavers, stamped concrete or other porous surfaces.

For commercial and industrial environments we specialise in the installation of cost-effective alternatives to epoxy flooring and traditional floor painting techniques. Our corrosion and stain resistant impregnation and trafficable coloured sealers are specialised products for protecting and beautifying new or old concrete. They prevent dusting and seal concrete surfaces to resist corrosion and staining from oils, grease, fats, lubricants, sugars, lactic acids, mildly acidic or caustic solutions.

A unique blend of coloured pigments, toughened plastic and rubber resins suspended in penetrating solvents is used to seal concrete pores to a depth of up to 2-3mm, leaving a tough, durable and fully trafficable coloured floor surface. Dusting is completely eliminated, reducing cleaning time and costs. Grease, oil, food spillage's etc. simply wipe or hose off. Attack by a wide range of corrosive or staining materials is resisted, and absorption of food materials that convert to acids by bacterial or enzyme action is greatly restricted.
JetSealed concrete floors don't peel like paints and they don't need to be sanded to be recoated.
JetSealing of concrete floors is ideally suited to car parks, motor and electrical workshops, factories, storage and warehouse floors, meat works, dairy or food processing floors, ice-cream plants, sugar terminals.
